A custom foot orthotic is a medical device designed to align the foot and ankle into the most anatomically efficient position. They look like shoe insoles, but are biomechanical appliances that are custom made to correct specific foot and body imbalances. As a result, these orthotics help reduce the stress and strain on your body by bringing your feet back into the proper alignment and help redirect and reduce certain aberrant motions that take place during the gait cycle. This can help reduce pain and discomfort in the feet, lower limbs, and the back.

When prescribing custom foot orthotics, Dr. Toner will perform a gait analysis, biomechanical examination, and foam casting to ensure that each patient is properly fitted to orthotics that will meet their biomechanical as well as individual/lifestyle needs.  These custom foot orthotics can be multi-functional or more specifically designed to suit the needs of workplace, sport, or casual demands.
